COVID Wedding Guidelines For Long Island
Interim Wedding Guidelines
You will be hearing wedding bells once again under the new Covid wedding guidelines for Long Island. Governor Cuomo’s office announced that it would be lifting restrictions and allowing events under certain conditions. While many couples have put off planning or postponed their wedding during the COVID pandemic, brides can celebrate under the Interim Guidance for In-Person and Catered Events.
As of March 15th, NY State began allowing weddings and events of up to 150 people and with the success rate of the vaccine, will expand the social gathering capacity to 250 attendees on June 8th, 2021. Guests will be allowed to attend without having to provide a negative coronavirus test or vaccination. For any event above the social gathering limit, Couples must get their event approved by the Department of Health by submitting the Event Information five days in advance of the event date..
The Team at Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow has been working diligently to make sure the facility is in compliance to accommodate people safely and we ask everyone to practice social distancing and wear face coverings outside designated areas.
Are following these COVID wedding rules something you can do? Then you may just be on your way to tying the knot.

COVID Wedding Guidelines FAQ
COVID
Wedding Guidelines FAQ
Here you will find a repository of Frequently asked questions that may help you better understand how they work.
How will we know the Wedding Guidelines work?
NY state performed an experiment at Bill’s stadium during the playoff game In January allowing fans to return. The small population of fans were tested before and after the game to monitor any link back to new Covid-19 cases.
Due to the success of the stadium test, NY State announced: “The Promise of Marital Bliss is Returning”. All things considered, we just might have some football fans to thank for that.
How do we get our event or wedding approved?
Your first step should be to submit the Event Information to Giorgio’s five days before your event. Do this before you begin planning or if your wedding date is around the corner.
The department of health requires venues to maintain a list of attendees for possible contact tracking. Fill out the Guest wedding tracker list provided on our website before your event. This will help us keep accurate records for any future inquiry from the DOH.
Rest assured that we are working together directly with the state and the Suffolk county DOH to make sure your wedding will be safe and fun.
How will Giorgio's keep my guests safe?
In Addition to the wedding guidelines for Long Island, a compliance manager will be present. They make sure everyone is following social distancing etiquette. Guests must wear their masks except when eating/drinking at their tables or in designated standing areas during the cocktail hour.
Furthermore, there will be floor markings and posted signs to promote social distancing. These will be present when using the restroom or any other high traffic areas in the facility.
Where can we get tested or vaccinated?
Here is NY’s Find a testing site near you landing page. Simply type in your zip code and find the nearest testing site to your location.
As the Vaccine becomes available on Long Island, Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow is currently working on a testing and vaccination location that will provide many incentives and benefits for all Giorgio’s Brides.
Check back in the near future for updates.
How are My Vendors Approved?
To show NY state that Giorgio’s Bating Hollow is in compliance, Vendors are required to submit all their information prior to your event. Vendors can also participate in our “COVID Safe” verification program
look for the Giorgio’s Approval Badge on your Vendors website or a green stamp on our vendor page to check if they are in compliance with our guidelines.
Is the Giorgio's Staff tested?
Giorgio’s is required to test every staff member weekly and have their temperature check ever hour when scheduled to work.
If someone is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, the staff member will receive all the support they need to recover. Additionally, all areas used by said person will be cleaned and disinfected within 24 hours.
